    Playing Discs This chapter describes how to play a DVD/CD/VIDEO CD. Playing Discs Depending on the DVD or VIDEO CD, some operations may be different or restricted. You can resume playback from that point. As long as you do not open the disc tray, Resume Play is available even if you turn the power off.

    Glossary Bit rate (page 37) Value indicating the amount of video data compressed in a DVD per second. The unit is Mbps (Mega bit per second). 1 Mbps indicates that the data per second is 1,000,000 bits. The higher the bit rate is, the larger the amount of data.
  • Page 65 VIDEO CD (page 4) A compact disc that contains moving pictures. The picture data uses the MPEG 1 format, one of the worldwide standards of digital compression technology.
