SOFTWARE / UNIT OPERATION
CONFIGURING A SITRANS RD500 HSPA+
MODEM OPTION CARD
The RD500 Modem is configured as part of the RD500 system, using a
standard web browser. All modem option cards are configured to US HSPA+
frequency band (850/1900 MHz) by default. During setup of the Cellular
Modem Option card, the appropriate HSPA+ frequency band must be chosen
depending on the geographical location of the SITRANS RD500. Once the
option card is configured, the SITRANS RD500 should be power cycled for
the configuration changes to take effect. Additional information can be found
in your SITRANS RD500 hardware bulletin.
LED
LINK STATUS – MODEM STATUS LED
The Link Status LED is a green LED that provides information regarding
the state of the modem module's cellular connection. The status is described
below.
OFF
No power to the unit
Powered and not registered on the cellular
ON
network.
BLINKING
Powered and registered on the cellular network.
SIM CARD INSTALLATION & DETAILS
A SIM Card has to be installed on the option card before installing the
option card in the SITRANS RD500.

Enter the device name (MD-256) or order number, then click on Search,
and select the appropriate product type. Click on Next. You will be prompted
to enter a keyword describing your issue. Then either browse the relevant
documentation, or click on Next to email a detailed description of your issue
