Before operating the system, please read this guide thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, do not cover the ventilation opening of the appliance with newspapers,
tablecloths, curtains, etc.
Do not expose the appliance to naked flame sources (for example, lighted candles).
Do not install the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.
Do not expose the batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) to excessive heat such as sunshine,
fire or the like for a long time.
If your skin touches this product for a long time when the power is on, it may cause a low
temperature injury.
Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.
In the event of a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If
contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical
advice.
Do not use any cell or battery which is not designed for use with the equipment.
Secondary cells and batteries need to be charged before use.
After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the cells or
batteries several times to obtain maximum performance.
Dispose of properly.
Precautions
On safety
ˎ The nameplate and important information concerning safety are located inside of the cap on the
ˎ
rear side of the system.
On placement
ˎ Do not set the system in an inclined position. ˎ
ˎ Do not leave the system in a location near heat sources, or in a place subject to direct sunlight, ˎ
excessive dust, or mechanical shock.
ˎ Do not use or leave the system in a car. ˎ
ˎ Do not use the system in a sauna.
ˎ
About the Party Booster function
If the system hits a person or thing, it may cause an accident, injury or
malfunction. When using the Party Booster function, notice the
following.
ˎ Be sure to disconnect the micro-USB cable, etc. from the system. ˎ
ˎ Be sure to close the cap when using the system. ˎ
ˎ When using the function, hold firmly and do not shake the system ˎ
violently so that you do not throw or drop the system from your
hand.
ˎ Before using the function, make sure that you have secured sufficient ˎ
space around the system.
ˎ Do not hit the system with a tool. ˎ
ˎ Do not use the function while you are driving or walking.
ˎ

ˎ Keep 20 cm (7 ˎ / in) or more away from the face and eyes while in

use.
ˎ Avoid using the function for a long time. Take breaks regularly. ˎ
ˎ When using the function, if you get tired, feel uncomfortable or ˎ
experience pain somewhere in your body, stop using the function
immediately.
Others
ˎ Do not use or leave the system in an extremely cold or hot environment (temperature outside the ˎ
range of 5 °C – 35 °C (41 °F – 95 °F)). If the system is used or left in outside the above range, the
system may automatically stop to protect internal circuitry.
ˎ At high temperature, the charging may stop or the volume may reduce to protect the battery. ˎ
ˎ Even if you do not intend to use the system for a long time, charge the battery to its full capacity ˎ
once every 6 months to maintain its performance.
About the Voice Guidance
IMPORTANT: THE SOUND GUIDANCE IS AVAILABLE IN THIS PRODUCT ONLY IN ENGLISH
Depending on the status of the system, the voice guidance outputs from the speaker as followings.
ˎ When setting the system to the pairing mode; "Bluetooth pairing" ˎ
ˎ When pressing the BATT (battery) button to check the battery power during the system is turned ˎ
on; "Battery fully charged/Battery about 70%/Battery about 50%/Battery about 20%/Please
charge"
ˎ When the battery power is low; "Please charge" ˎ
ˎ When the settings are completed for the Speaker Add function; "Double mode" ˎ

Notes on waterproof and dust proof features (Read
before using the system)
Waterproof and dust proof performance of the system
The system, with the cap fastened securely, has a waterproof specification of IPX7 *1 as specified in
"Degree of protection against water immersion" of the IEC60529 "Ingress Protection Rating (IP
*3 *2
Code)" , and a dust proof specification of IP6X as specified in "Degrees of protection against solid
foreign objects" *3 .
Liquids that the waterproof performance specifications apply to
Applicable: fresh water, tap water, pool water, sea water
Not applicable: liquids other than the above (soapy water, water with detergent or
bath agents, shampoo, hot spring water, etc.)

The waterproof and dust proof performance of the system is based on our measurements under
the conditions herein described. Note that malfunctions as a result of water immersion or dust
intrusion caused by misuse by the customer are not covered by the warranty.
To avoid deterioration of waterproof and dust proof performance
Check the following and use the system correctly.
ˎ The system passes the drop test from 1.22 m (4 ft) on plywood of 5 cm (2 in) thickness conforming ˎ
to MIL-STD 810 F Method 516.5-Shock. However, this does not guarantee no damage, no
breakdown, or waterproof and dust proof performance in all conditions. Deformation or damage
from dropping the system or subjecting it to mechanical shock may cause deterioration of the
waterproof and dust proof performance.
ˎ This unit does not have a design that is resistant to water pressure. Use of the unit in a location ˎ
where high water pressure is applied, such as in the shower, may cause a malfunction.
ˎ Do not pour high-temperature water or blow hot air from a hair dryer or any other appliance on ˎ
the system directly. Also, never use the system in high temperature locations such as in saunas or
near a stove.
ˎ Handle the cap with care. The cap plays a very important role in maintenance of the waterproof ˎ
and dust proof performance. When using the system, make sure that the cap is closed
completely. When closing the cap, be careful not to allow foreign objects inside. If the cap is not
closed completely the waterproof and dust proof performance may deteriorate and may cause a
malfunction of the system as a result of water or dust particles entering the system.
Cap
How to care for the system
Although the fabric part of the system has water repellent treatment applied, you can use the
system more comfortably and for a longer period of time by following the maintenance procedure
below.
ˎ If the surface of the system gets dirty in the following cases, wash the system with fresh water ˎ
(tap water, etc.) promptly to remove the dirt. Leaving dirt on its surface may cause the fabric part
to discolor or deteriorate, or the system to malfunction.
Ex.
ē When salt, sand, etc. is stuck on the system after using it on a beach, pool side, etc.
ē When the system is stained with foreign substances (sunscreen, suntan oil, etc.)
ˎ If the system gets wet, wipe off the moisture using a dry soft cloth immediately. In addition, dry ˎ
the system in an airy place until no moisture remains.
ˎ The sound quality may change when water enters the speaker section of the system. It is not ˎ
malfunction. Wipe off the moisture on its surface, and put the system on a dry soft cloth with the
SONY logo facing down to drain the collected water inside the system. Then, dry the system in an
airy place until no moisture remains.
Note
ˎ If the surface of the system gets dirty, do not use detergent, thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc. to ˎ
clean the system because it will affect the water repellent function of the fabric part of the
system.
ˎ Especially in cold regions, be sure to wipe off the moisture after using the system. Leaving
ˎ
moisture on its surface may cause the system to freeze and malfunction.
ˎ If sand grains, etc. enter the fabric part of the system, remove them carefully. Never use a vacuum ˎ
cleaner, etc. on the system. It may cause damage of the speaker unit.

* LDAC is an audio coding technology developed by Sony that enables the transmission of
High-Resolution (Hi-Res) Audio content, even over a BLUETOOTH connection. Unlike other
BLUETOOTH compatible coding technologies such as SBC, it operates without any down-
conversion of the Hi-Res Audio content* 7 , and allows approximately three times more data*
than those other technologies to be transmitted over a BLUETOOTH wireless network with
unprecedented sound quality, by means of efficient coding and optimized packetization.

Rendimiento del sistema a prueba de agua y de polvo
El sistema, con la cubierta sujetada de manera segura, tiene especificaciones sobre las propiedades
a prueba de agua de IPX7* 1 según se especifica en "Grado de protección contra la inmersión en el
agua" de IEC60529 "Calificación de protección de ingreso (Código IP)"*

prueba de polvo de IP6X* como se especifica en "Grados de protección contra objetos extraños
sólidos"* 3 .
Líquidos aplicables a las especificaciones del rendimiento a prueba de agua
Aplicable: agua fresca, agua potable, agua de piscina, agua de mar
No aplicable: líquidos diferentes a los antes mencionados (agua jabonosa, agua
con detergente o agentes de baño, champú, aguas termales; etc.)

El rendimiento por prueba de agua y de polvo del sistema se basa en nuestras mediciones bajo
las condiciones descritas aquí. Observe que el mal funcionamiento como consecuencia de la
inmersión en el agua o la intrusión en el polvo originados por el uso incorrecto del cliente no está
cubierto por la garantía.
Para evitar el deterioro del rendimiento por prueba de agua y de polvo
Controle lo siguiente y utilice el sistema correctamente.
ˎ El sistema pasó la prueba de caída desde 1,22 m (4 pies) en madera laminada de 5 cm (2 pulg.) ˎ
de espesor de acuerdo a MIL-STD 810 F Method 516.5-Shock. No obstante, esto no garantiza que
no haya daño, ni avería, ni rendimiento por prueba de agua y de polvo en todas las condiciones.
La deformación o el daño de la caída del sistema o el hecho de que esté sujeto a un choque
mecánico pueden causar deterioro del rendimiento por prueba de agua o de polvo.
ˎ Esta unidad no tiene un diseño resistente al agua a presión. La utilización de la unidad en un ˎ
lugar expuesto a agua a alta presión, por ejemplo en la ducha, puede provocar una avería.
ˎ No vierta agua caliente ni sople aire caliente con un secador de pelo, ni con ningún aparato ˎ
similar, directamente sobre el sistema. Además, no use el sistema en lugares con altas
temperaturas como saunas ni cerca de estufas.
ˎ Manipule la cubierta con cuidado. La cubierta cumple una función importante en el rendimiento ˎ
por prueba de agua y de polvo. Al usar el sistema, asegúrese de que la cubierta esté
completamente cerrada. Al cerrar la cubierta, verifique que no queden objetos externos en su
interior. Si la cubierta no se encuentra completamente cerrada, el rendimiento por prueba de
agua y de polvo pueden deteriorarse y podrían ocurrir fallas en el sistema como resultado de la
entrada de las partículas de agua o polvo.
Cómo cuidar el sistema
Aunque a la parte de tela del sistema se le aplica un tratamiento repelente al agua, puede utilizar el
sistema de manera más cómoda y durante un período de tiempo más prolongado si sigue el
procedimiento de mantenimiento que se detalla a continuación.
ˎ Si la superficie del sistema se ensucia en los siguientes casos, lave el sistema con agua fresca
ˎ
(agua corriente, etc.) rápidamente para eliminar la suciedad. Dejar la suciedad de la superficie
puede causar que la parte de la tela se decolore o se deteriore, o que el sistema funcione de
manera incorrecta.
Por ejemplo:
ē Cuando la sal, la arena, etc. están atascadas en el sistema después de usarlo en la playa, junto
a la piscina, etc.
ē Cuando el sistema está manchado con substancias extrañas (protector solar, aceite bronceador,
etcétera).
ˎ Si el sistema se moja, limpie la humedad con un paño suave y seco de inmediato. Además, seque ˎ
el sistema en un lugar ventilado hasta que no quede humedad.
ˎ La calidad del sonido puede cambiar cuando el agua ingresa a la sección del altavoz del sistema.
ˎ
No es un mal funcionamiento. Limpie la humedad en su superficie y coloque el sistema sobre un
paño suave y seco con el logotipo de SONY hacia abajo para drenar el agua que se acumula
dentro del sistema. Luego, seque el sistema en un lugar ventilado hasta que no quede humedad.
Nota
ˎ Si la superficie del sistema se ensucia, no use detergente, diluyente, gasolina, alcohol, etc. para ˎ
limpiarlo, ya que afectará la función repelente al agua de la parte de tela del sistema.
ˎ Especialmente en las regiones frías, asegúrese de quitar la humedad luego de utilizar el sistema. ˎ
Si la humedad permanece en la superficie del sistema, este se puede congelar y funcionar mal.
ˎ Si dentro de la parte de tela del sistema hubiera granos de arena u otro material, elimínelos con
ˎ
cuidado. Nunca use una aspiradora, etc. en el sistema. Puede causar daños a la unidad del
altavoz.
