Inserting/Removing a SIM Card

Before using the HSDPA/UMTS modem, set a SIM card to the SIM card slot.
CAUTION
 Do not insert or remove the SIM card while the HSDPA/UMTS modem's power is
on.

Turn off the computer.

 Inserting a SIM card
Open the cover.

After opening the cover, remove the screw and

then remove the metallic cover.
Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot with

the contact side facing downward and with the
cut corner oriented as shown in the illustration.
CAUTION
 Do not insert the SIM card upside down.
After inserting the SIM card, secure the metallic cover with the screw re-

moved in step B .
Close the cover.

If the cover is not closed, the SIM card may come out when the computer
falls.
Removing a SIM card
A Open the cover.
B After opening the cover, remove the screw
and then remove the metallic cover.
C Push the card.
It will come out of the slot a little bit.
D Pull the card all the way out.
E Secure the metallic cover.
F Close the cover.
*1 The metallic cover may not be attached to the
SIM card slot. In this case, skip these steps.
