6. FLOPPY DISK DRIVE (OPTION)
Before connecting and disconnecting the optional FDD unit, be sure to turn OFF the POS
terminal.
CAUTION!
1. When using the floppy disk drive on the ST-70 with a BIU, do
not place it behind the BIU. Doing this may cause a
malfunction of the floppy disk drive. Be sure to place the
floppy disk drive on a flat and stable surface, such as, a
drawer or a desk.
2. When handling a floppy disk, care should be taken as follows:
• Do not place the floppy disk close to any magnetic product.
• Do not use a damaged floppy disk.
• Do not bend the floppy disk.
• Keep the floppy disk away from water.
• Do not expose the floppy disk to direct sunlight.

6.1 Loading A Floppy Disk

Insert a floppy disk gently with the label side facing up until it clicks. When the floppy disk is correctly
inserted, the eject button pops out.

6.2 Ejecting A Floppy Disk

CAUTION!
Do not press the eject button while the active LED is lit. Doing so may destroy the data in the
floppy disk.
Press the eject button on the floppy disk drive. The floppy disk is ejected to the position where it can be
removed by hand.
