The flashing "-" is called a "cursor". Characters typed on the keyboard are
displayed where the cursor is located. Let's try typing some characters (they
can be any characters). ASDFGHE ......
Did you notice that the " � " turned into
of a line, and is called a "prompt".
Next, depress the
keyboard. This is a very important key. Before learning about this key, let's
see what happend when you depress this key. (If you depress a wrong key by
mistake, please refer to "1.4.2 Making corrections" .)

"SN Error (syntax error)." In other words, the X-07 is saying, "Please give
me a proper command that I can understand."

The power ON/BREAK and OFF keys of the X-07 have a sligtly different pur­
pose than the power switches we generally know. Turning OFF the power does
not cut the power to all the circuits of the X-07. Only the power to the LCD
and the parts which perform calculations (these parts consume much power) is
cut. Memory, the timer and the parts which control the keyboard continue to
function.
Moreover, if you forget to turn OFF the power, don't worry. When the
prompt is displayed on the LCD, and the keyboard is not used for more than
15 minutes, the power is automatically turned OFF.
