This reminder is provided to direct the CATV system installer’s attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

    Locate at a comfortable distance for viewing. Avoid placing where sunlight or other bright light (including reflections) will fall on the screen. Use of some types of fluorescent lighting can reduce remote control transmitter range. Adequate ventilation is essential to prevent internal component failure. Keep away from areas of excessive heat or moisture.
