Networks built into many integrated circuits provide some protection, but in many cases, ESD contains enough power to alter device parameters or melt silicon junctions.

CAUTION: When inserting the plastic tool into the tablet as described in Step 3, make sure not to insert the tool into the power button area. Failure to follow this caution can result in damage to the tablet.

    WARNING! To reduce potential safety issues, use only the battery provided with the tablet, a replacement battery provided by HP, or a compatible battery purchased from HP. CAUTION: Removing a battery that is the sole power source for the tablet can cause loss of information.
