ADDITIONAL
SAFETY RULES
1) Be aware that this tool is always in operating
condition, since it does not have to be
plugged into an electrical outlet.
2) Be careful not to get your ties or wide cuffs
rolled into the rack.
3) Stop using the tool if you notice something
abnormal.
Part Identification
Battery charger (EY0020/RE503) ··· (K)
Note: When you charge the battery pack for the
first time, or after prolonged storage, charge it
for about 24 hours to bring the batteries up to
full capacity.
1. Pull out the battery pack.
2. Plug the charger into the power source.
3. Insert the battery pack firmly into the charger.
(Fig.2)
4. During charging, the charging lamp will be light
up.
When the charge is completed, an internal
electronic switch will automatically be triggered
to prevent overcharging.
• If the charging lamp does not light, check to
determine whether the contacts are clean and
the battery pack is inserted completely.
5. When charging is completed, the charging lamp
will go out.
6. Avoid charging at temperatures below 0°C
above 40°C.
7. After charging has been completed, remove the
battery pack from the charger and reinsert it
into the tool.
8. If the charging lamp does not turn on immediately
after the charger has been plugged in, or if after
2 hours of charging the lamp does not go off,
consult an authorized dealer for checking.
4) During charging, the charger may become
slightly warm. This is normal. Do NOT charge
the battery for a long period.
5) Use only a dry, soft cloth to wipe the unit. Do
NOT use a damp cloth, thinner, benzine, or
other volatile solvents for cleaning.
Battery Recycling
For environmental protection and recycling of
materials, be sure that it is disposed of at an
officially assigned location, if there is one in your
country.
Battery pack (EY9021/EY903) ··· (F)
Service life of the battery pack
• If the charge lasts only half of the normal usage
time even after a complete recharge, the
service life of the battery pack has expired; in
this case the battery pack must be replaced
with a new unit.
(If the battery pack is charged on a daily basis,
the service life will be about 11/2 years <approx.
500 charging/discharging cycles>. This,
however, depends to a large extent on the
operating conditions.)
Warning
• Never short-circuit the battery pack.
It is dangerous to leave battery packs
unprotected in a tool box, since metal objects,
such as nails, pliers, etc. may cause a
short-circuit!
• This battery pack contains Nickel-Cadmium
batteries.
The batteries must be recycled or disposed of
properly.

Preparing the sealing
gun
Use only sealing compound packaged in
cartridges.
1) Cut off the tip of the cartridge. The smaller the
opening, the more pressure is required to
squeeze out the sealing compound;
consumption
of
battery
power
rises
accordingly.
Cut the opening to the desired diameter (a
minimum of 3 mm). (Fig. 3)
2) Punch a hole in the aluminum seal of the
cartridge. If you forget to perforate this seal,
the sealing compound may come out of the
rear part of the cartridge, damaging and
soiling the sealing gun. (Fig. 4)
If a previously opened cartridge is to be used
again, remove the hardened material with a
needle or another pointed tool. (Fig. 5)
Inserting the sealing
compound cartridge
into the gun
1) Keep the rack release button pressed while
grasping the rack knob and pulling the rack
towards the rear as far as it will go. (Fig. 6).
2) Remove the cartridge holder and insert the
cartridge. (Fig. 7)
3) Attach the cartridge holder to the housing.
Turn the holder util it touches the housing.
(Fig. 8)
4) Keep the rack release button pressed, then
push the rack forward to the cartridge. (Fig. 9)
How to use the sealing
gun
Hold the gun with one hand, supporting the
cartridge holder with the other hand. Slide your
hand through the toggles strap, to avoid dropping
the sealing gun. (Fig. 10)
Set the speed control initially to LOW. As soon as
the sealing compound stars to come out of the
nozzle, adjust the control to the desired bead
width and application speed. (Fig. 11)
Just before finishing the application push the rack
release knob, hereby avoiding that sealing
compound drips from the nozzle. (Fig. 12)
If the cartridge is completely empty, the rack
cannot be moved any further. (Fig. 13)
The protruding part of the rack indicates
approximately how much sealing compound is still
left in the cartridge. (Fig. 14)
When the sealing gun is not in use, secure the
trigger with the trigger lock, to avoid activating the
unit inadvertently. (Fig. 15)
Caution
Do not touch the rack to avoid getting your fingers
pinched.
Use the tool only for its intended purpose, and do
not operate it for long periods of time without
interruption, since this may damage the sealing
gun or cause the cartridge to jam. Do not insert a
cartridge if it is wet, or if the sealing compound
has hardened. If the tool is operated for long
periods of time, the motor may overheat.
It is therefore recommended to switch it off from
time to time.
The use of flammable materials, even for cleaning
purposes, is not permitted.

Maintenance

Caution
Make sure to remove the battery pack before
starting maintenance work or when checking the
tool.
• Wipe the tool with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not use a wet cloth or solvents, since this
may discolor the housing.
• If sealing compound adheres to the rack,
remove the compound before it hardens.
Inspect and clean the tool in regular intervals.
Charge the battary pack at last every 6 months.
Do not disassembly the tool.
Should any repairs become necessary, contact
the dealer where you bought the tool, or consult
an authorized service center.
