Deleting Letters and Words
Place the cursor to the right of the text you want to delete,
and then do the following:

Your phone provides an alternate way to enter symbol
characters in a message. Press
entry screen and select the Symbol menu option.
Do This
1 Press a number key one time to display its
symbol options at the bottom of the display
