    2.3.2 Installing the CPU Follow these steps to install a CPU. 1. Locate the 478-pin ZIF socket on the motherboard. 2. Unlock the socket by pressing the lever sideways, then lift it up to a 90°-100° angle. Make sure that the socket lever is lifted up to 90°-100° angle, otherwise the CPU does not fit in completely.

    2.3.3 Installing the heatsink and fan ® ® The Intel Pentium 4 Processor requires a specially designed heatsink and fan assembly to ensure optimum thermal condition and performance. When you buy a boxed Intel Pentium 4 Processor, the package includes the heatsink, fan, and retention mechanism. In case you buy a CPU separately, make sure that you use only Intel certified heatsink and fan.

    3. Push down the locks on the retention mechanism to secure the heatsink and fan to the module base.     Expansion slots In the future, you may need to install expansion cards. The motherboard has two 64-bit and three 32-bit PCI slots. The following sub-sections describe the slots and the expansion cards that they support. Make sure to unplug the power cord before adding or removing expansion cards.

You can clear the CMOS memory of date, time, and system setup parameters by erasing the CMOS RTC RAM data.
