Operator-presence control cable

Note:
Retain all removed parts for later installation
unless otherwise indicated.
1. Shut off the engine, remove the key (if
equipped), wait for all movement to stop, and
allow the machine to cool.
2. Remove the operator-presence control cable
from the handlebar
1. Bolt (1/4 x 1-3/4 inches)
2. Upper handlebar
3. Disconnect the removed cable from the
operator-presence bail bracket by angling the
cable fitting free (Figure

2 Install the handlebar extension kit.

4. Remove the other end of the removed cable
from the engine.

Important:
to the engine, the new cable is installed in
the same way.
Note:
You may discard the removed
operator-presence control cable.
5. Remove the 2 handwheel knobs, washers, and
U-bolts that secure the upper handlebar to the
lower handlebar
