B. P rocedure
1. Test t he p ump t o m ake s ure i t i s o perational. A k itchen s ink f illed w ith s ix i nches
of w ater i s s ufficient. O nly p lug t he p ump i nto t he e lectrical s ocket a fter t he
pump i s s ubmerged. R unning a p ump d ry w ill d estroy i t. A lso, e xamine a ny
control o n t he p ump s o t hat o nce t he p ump i s i nstalled, y ou w ill k now h ow t o
increase/decrease t he w ater f low. R emoving a f aulty p ump i s t ime-­‐consuming.
2. Prepare t he a rea o n w hich t he f ountain w ill s tand. E nsure t hat t he a rea i s p acked
down a nd r easonably l evel.
3. Place t he p edestal o f t he f ountain i n t he d esired l ocation. I f t he f ountain i s o n a
solid s urface, m ake s ure t he c ord s lot i n t he b ottom o f t he p edestal i s p ointed i n
the d irection y ou d esire ( usually t oward t he b ack a nd y our e lectrical s upply.)
4. Place t he b owl o nto t he p edestal. * *Note: # 434 S pergia T able t op f ountain

5. Install t he p ump. F eed t he p ump c ord d own t hrough t he b owl a nd b ase t o t he
ground. T hen, r eaching u nder t he t ipped b ase g rasp t he c ord a nd p ull i t o ut f rom
under t he b ase, e nsuring t hat t he c ord l ies i n t he c hannel i n t he b ottom o f t he
base ( otherwise, t he f ountain c annot b e p roperly l eveled.) W hen p ulling t he c ord
through, l eave a bout t hree i nches b etween t he p ump a nd t he i nside o f t he b owl.
