Talkaphone WEBS-PA-2IP Installation Instructions

I. Introduction
Model WEBS-PA-2IP / WEBS-PA-2IP-12 Area Paging Units are designed to mount on a wall or pole, for use with
WEBS-CONTACT as part of an IP-based Wide-area Emergency Broadcast System.
NOTE: WEBS-CM-2 requires a separate dedicated line regulated power supply or Power over Ethernet (PoE).
II. Wall Mounting
The Area Paging Unit is held to the wall with 4 #10 screws. Remove the cap and rotate front wrap from the back
mounting plate. Install two #10 screws in order to hold the top section of the back plate to the wall. Note that the
screws should be located so that the Area Paging Unit will be at the desired height and in the correct position to
receive any conduit connections.
Mount the back plate on the wall using the two keyholes on the top rear of the unit to the two screws mounted to
the wall. Install two additional #10 screws of the appropriate type in the holes in the lower portion of the back plate.
Tighten all four screws.
III. Pole Mounting
For pole mounting, model ETP-PMKT Pole Mount Kit is recommended to strap the unit to a pole. Model ETP-
PMKT-TOOL is the required tool. Other banding solutions are also available.
IV. Wiring
Electric power and the communication line can be brought into the unit in one of two ways:
1. There are two large openings in the back of the unit to allow the unit to be mounted over a flush
mounted standard electrical outlet box and/or flush mounted telephone connector box.
2. There are two conduit openings available on the bottom of the unit for connection of power and/or
communication line.
Install conduit to hole(s) in bottom of unit, if this method is being used, and bring power line and/or communication
line to inside of unit.
The WEBS-AMP-2 amplifier, loud speakers, and WEBS-CM-2 communications module are installed prior to
shipment.
Connect the WEBS-AMP-2 amplifier audio input to the audio line level output of the WEBS-CM-2.
Connect WEBS-AMP-2 amplifier trigger pair (blue and orange) to either of the aux. outputs of WEBS-CM-2. Refer
to the WEBS-CM-2 Manual for information regarding the programming of your communications module.
For the WEBS-PA-2IP, connect the input power supply of the WEBS-AMP-2 amplifier to 120VAC - 240VAC, 60Hz
(wiring: brown - positive and blue - neutral).
