Operating Instructions

This operating instruction explains the basic features of the wireless station WAP-
NA1. Please read this instruction first before using the wireless station.
For details on connections, refer to the supplied "Quick Connection and Setup
Guide".

Introduction
This wireless station allows you to use the Instant (S-IWS*) connection to connect the "GIGA JUKE"
Music Server with the "GIGA JUKE" Wireless Player over a wireless network. For details on the Instant
(S-IWS) connection, refer to the supplied "Quick Connection and Setup Guide".
In addition to the Instant (S-IWS) connection, a wireless network can also be set up through an AOSS
connection. For details on the AOSS connection, refer to the operating instructions for the "GIGA
JUKE" Music Server and the "GIGA JUKE" Wireless Player.
"GIGA JUKE" Music Server can also be set up through a wired connection. For details on the wired
connection, refer to the operating instructions for the "GIGA JUKE" Music Server.
* S-IWS is an abbreviation of "Sony Instant Wireless Audio Setup".

Note
Using the Instant (S-IWS) wireless connection may lower the security level of your home network. To obtain a
security level higher than that of the Instant (S-IWS) connection, an AOSS connection is recommended.

Name of parts and controls
 Operation mode switch (MODE 1, MODE 2, AUTO*
Switches the operation mode of the wireless station. Set the switch to "AUTO"*
MODE 1: Use this mode when the network consists only of the NAS-SC55PKE devices.

MODE 2: Use this mode when the wireless station is connected to a broadband router for access to
the Internet.
AUTO* 1 : This mode selects "MODE 1" or "MODE 2" automatically.

 LAN 1, LAN 2, LAN 3 ports
Use these ports to connect to the "GIGA JUKE" Music Server through a wired connection.
 INTERNET port
Use this port to connect to a broadband router.
 POWER (DC IN) jack
Use this jack to connect the supplied AC power adaptor and power cord.
 AOSS button
When setting the AOSS connection, pressing and holding down this button until the AOSS indicator
lights up changes the wireless station to AOSS mode, causing the AOSS connection setting to be
automatically made.
 POWER indicator
Lights up green when the wireless station is turned on.
Wireless Station
 INSTANT indicator*
Lights up red while setting up the Instant (S-IWS) connection and the wireless network is connected
WAP-NA1
with the Instant (S-IWS) connection.
 AOSS indicator*

Flashes red while the AOSS connection is being set. Lights up steadily when the connection is
securely made.
 WIRELESS indicator*
Lights up green when the wireless network is available. Flashes when the wireless network is being
used.
 MODE indicator* 2
Lights up green when the operation mode switch is set to "MODE 1".
 RESET button
Press this button to reset the wireless station to its factory settings or to Instant (S-IWS) connection
mode. Use something with a pointed tip, such as a small pin, to press the RESET button.
* If the INSTANT, AOSS, WIRELESS and MODE indicators are all flashing continuously, there may be a malfunction in the network.

If this happens, check the following.
When the indicators flash 3 times simultaneously:
There is a malfunction in the wired network. If this happens, do the procedure "When the connection fails or a malfunction has
occurred in the wireless station" (see below) to reconnect the network.
When the indicators flash 4 times simultaneously:
There is a malfunction in the wireless network. If this happens, do the procedure "When the connection fails or a malfunction has
occurred in the wireless station" (see below) to reconnect the network.
* When an AOSS connection fails, the AOSS indicator flashes rapidly. If this happens, do the procedure "When the connection fails

or a malfunction has occurred in the wireless station" (see below) to reconnect the network.
When the connection fails or a malfunction has occurred in the wireless station
Do the following procedure to reset the network connection.

Disconnect the AC power adaptor from the wireless station.

Make sure all the devices are correctly and firmly connected (except for the AC power adaptor of
the wireless station).

Reconnect the AC power adaptor to the wireless station, wait for a while, and then press the RESET
button.

Set up the network connection again.

Precautions
Before you use the wireless station, please read the following.
About AC power adaptor
 Use the AC power adaptor supplied with this unit. Do not use any other AC power adaptor since it may cause this
unit to malfunction.
Polarity of the plug
 If you are not going to use this unit for a long time, be sure to disconnect the power supply. To remove the AC
power cord from the wall outlet, grasp the adaptor plug itself; never pull the cord.
WARNING
As the main plug is used to disconnect the unit from the mains, connect the unit to an easily accessible AC outlet.
Should you notice an abnormality in the unit, disconnect the main plug from the AC outlet immediately.
Use this product indoors only. To avoid the risk of electric shock by lightning, the network to which this product is
connected should never extend from the inside to outside of the building.
